Artists of every kind have been awed throughout the years by the beauty of The Big City. Join the Salt River Brass as we travel the globe in a musical tour of cities that inspired composers from every age. Franz von Suppé’s Morning, Noon & Night in Vienna and Philip Sparke’s London landscape, Portrait of a City, will open our program. Harry Watters, trombone virtuoso from Washington, DC, returns to take us on a Family Drive Across America featuring New York, New York; Kansas City; Route 66; California Here I Come; and Surfin’ USA. Harry’s salsa version of Flight of the Bumble Bee will leave you stung with amazement. Malcolm Arnold’s Four Scottish Dances and Elgar Howarth’s comedic trip through The Carnival of Venice complete our journey through Bright Lights, Big City!
