Mesa Arts Center is excited to present cultural icon William Shatner in his one-man show Shatner's World: We Just Live In It on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013. The larger than life comedic performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Ikeda Theater. Tickets are available through the Mesa Arts Center Box Office at MesaArtsCenter.com or by calling 480-644-6500.

Opening to the familiar theme from "Star Trek" because he says he wants to make a "recognizable entrance", Shatner's 100-minute show is part self and part self-parody. Throughout the evening, Shatner talks about his whole life, from growing up in Canada to starring alongside Christopher Plummer in "Star Trek" and "Boston Legal" to his musical career. Using charming anecdotes, songs, jokes, and some poignant moments, Shatner helps you to experience his interesting life path from classically trained Shakespearean actor to an instantly recognized, and referenced, cultural icon.

Though theatrical in Shatner's signature way, as well as comical and endearing, the show feels more like an autobiography. Approaching his 81st birthday and contemplating on his successful and fascinating life, William Shatner paints an entertaining and wonderful picture of his energy and humor and how it's carried him through his life's wild path to fame.
