Hershey Felder in BEETHOVEN, AS I KNEW HIM The Music of Ludwig van Beethoven, text by Hershey Felder
Directed by Joel Zwick
Tucson: April 8 - 27, 2009
Phoenix: May 7 - 24, 2009
We embraced him last season as the inimitable New Yorker George Gershwin and the elegant and mystical Fryderyk Chopin. Every one of his ATC performances was greeted with standing ovations and calls for encores. Now, Hershey Felder completes his musical trilogy known as ‘The Composer Sonata' with his brand new production, Beethoven, As I Knew Him. Based on a true story, the headstrong German genius Ludwig van Beethoven is brought stirringly to life through the eyes of his last surviving friend as well as through performances of some of the most eternally powerful musical masterpieces ever composed. Hershey Felder's performances have been heralded as "Dazzling... Sheer Genius!" by the New York Daily News, "Magic...Sublime!" by the Arizona Daily Star, and "A true passion powers his portrayal...Delightful!" by The Arizona Republic.
