New Shows added to Performing Live Season at Mesa Arts Center

Mesa Arts Center today announces three events added to their Performing Live lineup: International Jazz Day Festival on April 30, Rob Lowe, Stories I Only Tell My Friends on May 20, and George Benson and Kenny G. - Breezin' & Breathless Tour. Tickets go on sale to Mesa Arts Center members on Tuesday, March 21 and go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 24. Tickets will be available at the Mesa Arts Center Box Office, at 480-644-6500 or atmesaartscenter.com.

Mesa Arts Center joins more than 196 global Jazz Day celebrations on April 30, the date officially designated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to celebrate jazz and the role it plays in uniting people around the world. World renowned Organist Tony Monaco headlines this year's International jazz Day Festival, and special guest Billboard artists include Scott & Ginger Whitfield. Featured performers include: jazz vocalist Nayo Jones, drummer Dowell Davis, jazz trumpeter Mario Abney, pianist Ioannis Goudelis, and Felix Sainz, a bass and classic guitarist based in the Valley.

World renowned Jazz superstars, George Benson and Kenny G, are teaming up for a historic co-headline touring event where each will perform songs from their career defining album plus greatest hits. It's been 40 years since Jazz visionary George Benson released the groundbreaking Grammy Award winning album Breezin', selling over 3 million albums and topping the Jazz, R&B and Pop Billboard charts. It's been 25 years since Kenny G, the most celebrated instrumental musician of the modern era with his signature Jazz sound, debuted the Grammy Award winning album Breathless, selling over 12 million copies in the United States alone.

George Benson and Kenny G combined have sold over 125 million albums worldwide, earned 11 Grammy Awards, and have recorded a staggering 15 #1 albums and 10 #1 singles. The pair will embark on one of the most highly anticipated tours of the year, The Breezin' & Breathless Tour.
