This Monday, Stay Cat Theatre joins forces with Arizona Theater Company, Actors Theatre and ASU School of Theater and Film to put up a staged reading of THE LARAMIE PROJECT: 10 YEARS LATER (AN EPILOGUE)

On Monday, October 12, Tempe will be one of a select number of cities in the U.S. to present the world premiere of this new play by Tectonic Theatre Project on the 11th anniversary of the murder of 19-year-old, gay college student, Matthew Shepard. The play investigates the long-term cultural impact of the Shepard murder and the collective memory of the community a decade after the event.

The evening will start with a pre-show event broadcast from AlIce Tully Hall in New York City. Featuring the Tectonic Theatre Company and special guests from the original film, including host Glenn Close, the pre-performance event will unite audiences across the nation who are about to experience the epilogue. Following the local reading, the audience will rejoin the proceedings at AlIce Tully Hall for an informative discussion with an expert panel to explore the continuing impact of The Laramie Project.

The performance will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 12, at Galvin Playhouse at ASU's Nelson Fine Arts Center, Mill Avenue and 10th Street, Tempe.

Admission is ONLY $5 with all proceeds going to charity.

The reading is directed by Stray Cat's own Ron May.

The cast includes Joshua Ball, Cathy Dresbach, Cale Epps, Angelica Howland, Joe Kremer, Kate Kugler, Mike Lawler, Lillie Richardson, April Smith, Jessica Weaver, Brandon Wiley and Zachary Yurkovic.
