This weekend during their Artists Coffee Talk series, Goldenstein Gallery is hosting two artists whose work is so vivid and arresting it can only be described as iconic: Sculptor James Muir and painter Patricia A Griffin.

Curated by Linda Goldenstein this popular series was created to facilitate a more personal connection between people and the artists they love. On Saturday mornings at 9:30am, through November 18th, Goldenstein invites the public to enjoy a cup of coffee while they get to know both the artist and their art, learning what inspires them and about individual art pieces.

"An artist's work is always evolving. Each new piece is a living reflection metaphorically of the artist themselves," muses Linda Goldenstein "When someone gazes upon a piece of art and has a visceral response, they are experiencing a connection with that artist. One of the driving beliefs behind my gallery is that art, and that connection, has the power to change peoples lives for the better. Our mission is Life Enhancement through Art."

Patricia A Griffin has spent the past 28 years painting, teaching, and traversing the US. Her scintillating portraits of animals are evocative and explore the subjects of humanity's earliest artists. Her palette is responsible in large part for the power of her work. Bold colors and light dominate her paintings where multiple layers of oil paint are applied producing a dynamic vibration. Griffin says of her work, "My paintings are a contemporary manifestation of an ancient muse. My wish is to bring the viewer into the present moment of reflection and peace."

Griffin's award-winning images have received International acclaim. Her paintings have been featured in eleven museums and in collections from Dallas to Dubai. She donates 10% of the proceeds from the sale of her work towards wildlife conservation.

Griffin will also be participating in Goldenstein Gallery's Artist in Residence series at L'Auberge de Sedona painting daily from October 18 through 22. Check GoldensteinArt.com for a complete schedule of Artists Coffee Talk speakers and Artists in Residence.

Internationally renowned allegorical sculptor James Muir has spent his lifetime translating his deep spiritual convictions and social consciousness into profound works of art reflecting the critical nature of the times in which we live. His work, prized by public and private collectors across the globe, speaks eloquently of duty, honor, courage, and justice, but above all, truth and the ultimate triumph of the human spirit. His pieces are in both public and private collections internationally including the George W. Bush Presidential Library in Texas.

Allegorical Art is a term Muir uses to describe his art as being filled with symbolic meaning.

"To bring light into the darkness, such is the duty of the artist," says Muir "The longest journey is the journey within."

Muir believes we are all given a path of service to humanity and considers his talents as his own way for him to contribute in a meaningful way.

Muir is completing a stunning monumental bronze, commissioned for Sedona's Chapel of the Holy Cross, that will rest on the interior window cross and be unveiled in the Spring of 2018. The maquette bronze sculpture of this poignant piece can be seen both at Goldenstein Gallery and the Chapel of the Holy Cross. There will be a special reception at the Chapel of the Holy Cross with James Muir to discuss this special piece on Thursday, October 19th, which is open to the public at 6pm.
