HELLO, DOLLY!

Music and lyrics by Jerry Herman
Book by Michael Stewart
Directed by David Hock and Choreographed by Bill Hotaling SMTC follows it's first-ever New Year's Eve gala (2014's The Producers) with this beloved musical comedy about Dolly Levi - a spunky, irascible matchmaker in turn-of-the-century New York who tries to bring romance to her fellow townsfolk - and herself. Eternal showtunes like "Put on Your Sunday Clothes", and the title song pepper this delightful score, featuring one of Broadway's most well-known characters. Hello, Dolly will kick off a New Year's Eve Gala evening that will include the show, and a party afterward to ring in the New Year.

"Bringing Broadway's favorites back to life" embodies the driving force behind Scottsdale Musical Theater Company. The majority of theater audiences look forward to the familiarity of recognizable titles, stories and music. SMTC prides itself on presenting affordable theatrical productions of well-known Broadway shows in their entire original Broadway versions with large scale sets, fully costumed and featuring the best of Phoenix area talent along with a full live twenty plus piece orchestra so that these shows can be heard and appreciated as they were originally meant to be. And with a new home at the glorious Tempe Center for the Arts, audiences are even closer to a Broadway experience than ever before!
