BWW Reviews: THE CAPITOL STEPS Show No Mercy - Thankfully!
On the evening of November 29th, Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts was the arena in which The Capitol Steps launched their withering, irrepressible, and hilarious volley of slings and arrows against the Goliaths of politics.
This marvelously talented and creative group of satirists, rich in voice and personality, remind us how important a healthy sense of humor is, particularly given the foibles and follies of the politically powerful.
Set to the music of notable musical hits, every song manages to skewer the famous and the infamous. Whether it's Pope Francis or the Secret Service, President Obama or Ted Cruz, Angela Merkel or Benjamin Netanyahu ~ the troupe hits the hot spots with wit and uncovers truths in the great tradition of the political wags that preceded them.
My advice to the reader is that, if they're scheduled to be on tour in your town, scoop up a ticket and enjoy!
