The Dining Room Our 547th Production By A.R. Gurney A comedy of manners that takes place in a single New England dining room where 18 scenes from different households overlap and intertwine. The action is a mosaic of interrelated snapshots — some funny, some touching, some rueful — which, taken together, create an in-depth portrait of a vanishing species of the upper-middle-class. It was a finalist for the 1985 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
