Upper Darby Summer Stage is proud to present Disney’s majestic musical, Mary Poppins! With a magical twist on the Disney movie featuring all the classic songs including “A Spoonful of Sugar,” “Chim Chim Cher-ee” and “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” to name a few plus many new ones, the musical adaptation is filled with mystical stagecraft.
Written by the creator of the PBS blockbuster “Downton Abbey,” and based on the books by P.L. Travers, the story of Mary Poppins takes place in 1910 England. The buttoned-up nanny arrives on the doorstep of the Banks’ home when the family needs her the most. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones she has a profound effect upon. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises, "Anything can happen if you let it."
Ages: Ages 8 and up.
