Young People's Theatre Workshop to Host 'Come Home to YPTW' Concert, 2/3

By: Jan. 20, 2016
Young People's Theatre Workshop (YPTW) will host Come Home to YPTW, a concert featuring alumni star performers on Wednesday, Feb. 3, at 7:30 p.m. at The Players Club of Swarthmore, 614 Fairview Ave., Swarthmore. Tickets are $25 in advance; $30 at the door. Download a ticket order form at www.yptw.org The purpose of the concert is to raise funds for YPTW's spring production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, a technically expensive production that requires a "flying" car. All funds raised from the concert will be used to support the production.

Coming home to YPTW to be a part of this special evening is Josh Young, Tony Nominee for Jesus Christ Superstar. Josh recently completed a Broadway run in which he originated the leading role in the musical Amazing Grace. Marcus Stevens, a celebrated actor, director, composer and musical theatre writer who took New York by storm in the last two incarnations of Forbidden Broadway, will also appear. Brian Lowdermilk, an award-winning composer, will participate as both as a composer and instrumentalist. Additional performers include Cory Wade Hindorff, finalist on TV's American's Next Top Model and a first-rate singer and composer; Jenna Pastuszek, regional musical theatre artist and faculty member at University of the Arts; Michael Jansen, Off-Broadway performer (Henry and Mudge); Liz Seymour Serpentine, a longtime YPTW and PCS favorite; and Courtney Jansen, recording artist and lead singer with the popular rock band, Gypsy Wisdom. Also, three young YPTW vocalists will give the audience a taste of YPTW's future excellence.

Coming Home to YPTW is not to be missed by area music lovers and supporters of musical theatre. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. for complimentary pre-show dessert. Attendees will be able to buy tickets for amazing raffle baskets filled with bountiful donations from area merchants. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m.
