YLT Seeks Show Proposals from Prospective Directors

York Little Theatre is currently soliciting show ideas from prospective directors for its 2012-13, 80th Anniversary Season. "YLT is committed to providing another season of exciting, engaging theatre with productions that appeal to a wide variety of audiences," explains Artistic Support Committee Chair and Board Member, Tatiana Dalton. "And we felt reaching out to the community for ideas was a great way to begin that process. This gives potential directors an opportunity to tell us not only what show(s) they would like to direct, but also their vision for them."

Productions will be presented in both the Mainstage Historic Stallman Auditorium as well as the Bert Smith Black Box Studio; and proposals are welcome for Mainstage, Studio and Children's Series. Anyone interested in directing a production for the 2012-13, 80th Anniversary Season, should submit a proposal of approximately 1 - 2 pages detailing the show of interest, as well as basic concepts for set, costumes, and marketing strategies. All proposals should include a brief budget estimate which must include any possible unusual production costs. Proposals submitted for consideration should only include show choices that are currently available for amateur productions.

All proposals should be submitted electronically to info@ylt.org by October 31, 2011. Candidates must include complete contact information. YLT's Artistic Support Committee will review all proposals and conduct interviews beginning late fall, 2011. All directorial and production positions are volunteer.
