This spring, Walnut Street Theatre for Kids audiences will embark on an extraordinary journey with The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, packed with song-and-dance fun, exciting travel and new discoveries. This production is based on the popular children's book series that has inspired countless kids, parents and teachers to mail Flat Stanley all over the world. The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley runs at 10:30am on March 30 and 31 and April 1,8,13 and 15; 11 am on April 9 and 16; and at 10:30 am, 1 pm and 3:30 pm on April 2.

Stanley Lambchop is just a normal kid leading an ordinary life with his mom, dad and little brother, Arthur. But, Stanley wishes things weren't so ordinary anymore. Everything suddenly changes for Stanley when his big bulletin board above his bed falls on him in his sleep. He survives the fall, but is now completely flat! Stanley decides to explore life with his new flat shape. He folds himself into a big envelope and travels the world! His adventures bring him to new places where he meets many new friends, but Stanley soon discovers something is missing. In this musical adventure, how far will Stanley travel? And what will happen once he realizes adventures are much more fun when joined by family?

The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, based on the children's book series by Jeff Brown, was written for the stage by Timothy A. McDonald and features music by Jonathan Waller, David Weinstein and Stephen Gabriel. McDonald, Waller and Weinstein also wrote the lyrics for this fun-filled musical journey.

The Walnut Street Theatre for Kids series, for grades K-6th and their ‘grown-up' friends, is celebrated for its commitment to encouraging parents (and grandparents) to read to their kids. Families can read together, and then discover a whole new level of imagination when they see the shows live onstage! The Walnut takes pride in bringing families together through reading and the arts.
