The success of Walla Fest on July 10 has inspired the intrepid creators in collaboration with Iron Age Theatre and The Centre Theater, Yesenia Bello, Anthony Bui and Makeba Robinson are planning to make Walla Fest a regular musical event on the Norristown Arts Hill. This time twelve different groups will share an eclectic mix of music from Alternative to Hip Hop during the two hour show paired with an art show on the Centre Theater's first floor space.

Walla Fest has partnered with Iron Age Theatre and The Centre Theater to manifest their musical vision on August 19 at 6pm. The event will cost only $5.00. Doors open at 5:30 and guests will be able to peruse the art show on the first floor of the Centre Theater. At 6, performers will take the Centre Theater stage.

The two hour musical extravaganza will feature Sound of the Shoreline, Greg Johnson, Heavy C
One Night Stand, Corey Q and the Electric Eels, Biscuit, Drew Mills, and Rich Flow.

Dennis Lorenzo, who has been performing in Phoenixville and is the front man for Good Nature will headline Walla Fest 2. Returning from Walla Fest 1 will be the punk duo Skull Kids, indie pop artists Kaab&Pab&RazCosby, and the hilarious Rap master Eddie Pesos.

The evening contains a health dose of Rap, HipHop, Pop, Poetry and singer Songwriters. "we tried to keep the evening fresh. It is an amazing lineup" stated Walla founder and MC, Anthony Bui.

"We could not believe the number of people who came to us after the first event asking for a spot in the second. We were overwhelmed by the interest from the musical community and our audience." Stated Makeba who will be taking the stage again as both producer and featured artist at Walla Fest.

The first floor art show will feature work by Marcus Sucram, Colin Brier, Anthony Bui, Yesenia Bello, Makeba Robinson. This is the beginning of the Centre Theater's plan to open the first floor space to the local school district and have a permanent gallery for the Youth of Norristown.

The Centre Theater will again offer its main stage for the event. Last time the venue was filled to the brim with youthful enthusiasm and wonderful music. Bello, Robinson and Bui have organized this second event including auditions for bands and artwork.

"The Centre is dedicated to developing the arts in Norristown and by bringing our youth into the Arts Hill, we can revitalize the town." Stated Fran Doyle, Executive Director of The Centre Theater.

The sets will be short and potent keeping the music flowing and the pace fast. It is a showcase rather than a concert. There will be refreshments and merchandise.

"As we progress, we hope to bring in headliners from the Philadelphia region but for now our heart is with local talent. We want to open the doors for them and give them a real performing experience.." stated Bello.

The Centre Theater at the Montgomery County Cultural Center, located in downtown Norristown, provides affordable, quality professional theater and arts education. By providing quality programs we are bringing the arts to Norristown and the Greater Delaware Valley area.

"These kids seem unstoppable and we are happy to move with them as they create music in our downtown" stated John Doyle, artistic director of Iron Age Theatre and technical producer of the event.

The Centre Theater is one of the most critically acclaimed companies in the area for over fifteen years. The Philadelphia City Paper called the companies, The area's most under-appreciated theater company. Receiving Barrymore nominations for a number of their productions the companies have also premiered seven plays in the past two years including "The Life of John Henry," Jeffrey Hatcher's "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde," and "Molumby's Million." The Centre's musical theatre repertoire includes "High School Musical," "The Sound of Music" "Man of LaMancha" and more. The Centre's recent Independent Voices Festival presented 22 nights of theatre by 11 regional companies.

Working in collaboration with Iron Age Theatre, the Centre is planning a massive renovation of its theater and building. Phase Two of the capital development will include a new larger first floor venue for theatre and other performance. This year the Centre Theatre will presents another full season including "Maroon's The Anthracite Gridiron," a premiere about the Pottsville Maroons, Sam Shepard's "Fool for Love" and the musical "Lucky Stiff."
