MISTER ROBERTS is a funny yet poignant play set aboard a U.S. Navy cargo ship in the South Pacific near the end of World War II. Lt. Douglas Roberts is an outstanding naval officer who dreams of actually fighting in the war but is forced to watch from the sidelines. His battle of wits and wills with the obnoxiously arrogant Captain Morton make him a popular figure with the crew but thwart his efforts for a transfer. Also onboard is the young, highly unmotivated Ensign Pulver, the older, world-savvy "Doc" and the most engaging assortment of sailors ever to be (reluctantly) granted shore-leave. Winner of the 1948 Tony Award for Best Play, the popular film version starred Henry Fonda, James Cagney, Jack Lemmon and William Powell.

MISTER ROBERTS is rarely presented theatrically because of the extraordinary casting and staging requirements - 19 men and 1 woman. Last performed by Theatre Harrisburg in 1954, the spectacular multi-level set which represents both the interior and exterior of the ship is one of the largest ever created for any of the Theatre's productions.

The title role of Lt. Douglas Roberts is played by Robin Dorff, with Ed Costik as Capt. Morton, Larry Wineland as Doc, Bill McCarthy as Ensign Pulver and Sean Hackman as Dolan. Also appearing in the production are Anthony Ariano, Joe Carr, Joshua Dieter, Jeremy Hedenberg, Nathan Hostler, Ben King, Rob Kopko, Brian Kreutzer, Matthew W. Martin, Don O'Hara, Bill Rader, Mike Rossiter, Lauren Shufelt, Lewis W. Silverman and Brian Valley. The entire production is under the direction of David Olmsted.
