Join Theatre Exile in February for two effects workshops revealing the secrets of the gutsy, bloody, break-neck and heart-breaking shows you have come to count on from Philadelphia's "go-to company for fierce, sexy theater" (Philadelphia Inquirer). Get ready for Exile's Lieutenant of Inishmore with two events guaranteed to quicken your pulse! The Lieutenant of Inishmore has been supported by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage through the Philadelphia Theatre Initiative.

First, master theatre artist Aaron Cromie will take workshop attendees "Behind the Curtain" and into the technical process of Exile's The Lieutenant of Inishmore, guiding them through an active technical rehearsal and giving a sneak peek at this spectacular show. During the workshop Aaron will demonstrate how he creates his award-winning art by crafting, in real time, some of the body parts and exploding cats that make Lieutenant a bloody good time. To add to the fun, attendees can have a drink during the workshop at Philadelphia's best speakeasy, Quig's Pub, on the 3rd floor of the theater.
The workshop will include:

A tour through a live technical rehearsal with the cast and director of Lieutenant.
A peek at the process of creating the special effect body parts and pets.
A tutorial of how to use puppetry creation in the most unlikely of productions.
A discussion of how to ignite your imagination to bring new choices to any text.

When: Friday, 2/11 at 8pm

Where: 3rd floor of Plays and Players Theatre

1714 Delancey St.

Price: Tickets $20, available by calling 215-218-4022 or at http://theatreexile.org.

Note: Space is limited. This workshop is ideal for audience members who want to explore theater from inside the process, as well as emerging directors and designers who want to expand their creative potential.

Aaron Cromie is a Philadelphia based, multidisciplinary theatre artist who has collaborated as performer, designer, director, writer and musician with several companies including Arden Theatre Company, The Folger Shakespeare Theatre, Walnut Street Theatre, Mum Puppettheatre, The Studio Theatre, Wilma Theater, Lantern Theater, and Shakespeare Theatre among others.
