Shirley Valentine Ends Run at MR. GREEN on the Hedgerow Stage 2/17
Change Your Life! One delightful English middle-aged housewife discovers how to do just that in Hedgerow Theatre's hilarious new production of the London and Broadway smash comedy SHIRLEY VALENTINE. Those attending Willy Russell's sparking comedy, SHIRLEY VALENTINE at the Hedgerow Theatre February 2-17, will find the answer in a delightfully funny production, part of the theatre's Heritage Series, directed by noted actor Tom Teti and performed by Hedgerow's veteran actress Susan Wefel.
Producing Artistic Director was thrilled when one of Philadelphia's favorite actors, Hedgerow alumnus and company member, Tom Teti approached Reed to direct the show, stating "we both knew that Susan Wefel was the perfect actress to portray the plucky, wisecracking housewife Shirley Valentine to life. After playing Dorothy Parker brilliantly in Dorothy and Friends, a celebration of Sue's 30th year, Sue was ready for this one-hander. Sue is endearing, whacky and heartwarming in the role of Shirley."
Willy Russell's sweetly affecting one-woman comedy will run in repertory with VISITING Mr. Green. Due a brief bit of adult humor, this show is not recommended for children.
Tickets are $22 on Wednesday and $25 for all other shows with $3 discounts for seniors and students.SHIRLEY VALENTINE will be performed Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 2, 3, 9, 10 at 7:30 p.m.; Feb. 10, 11 & 17 at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 6 & 13 at 4 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 7 & 14 at 7:30 p.m. On Valentine's Day, (Feb. 14) the 7:30p.m. performance will include a sweet-for-your-sweetheart intermission.
Tickets are $22 on Wednesdays; $25 for all other performances; with $3 discounts for seniors and $10 for age 18 and under.
