Rock Of Ages To #RockTheState On February 17

Break out your denim jackets and leg warmers, the 80's are coming to the State Theatre! The worldwide party musical ROCK OF AGES, celebrating its tenth anniversary and featuring a mix of 28 of your favorite 80's tunes, takes the stage on Sunday, February 17th.

In 1987 on the Sunset Strip, a small town girl met a big city rocker and in LA's most famous rock club, they fell in love to the greatest songs of the 80's. You'll fall in love too, with the production that features all-time great hits such as DON'T STOP BELIEVIN', WE BUILT THIS CITY, THE FINAL COUNTDOWN, WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE, HERE I GO AGAIN, CAN'T FIGHT THIS FEELING and I WANT TO KNOW WHAT LOVE IS.

Five time 2009 Tony nominee ROCK OF AGES is an arena-rock love story told through the mind blowing, face-melting hits of JOURNEY, Night Ranger, STYX, REO SPEEDWAGON, Pat Benatar, TWISTED SISTER, POISON, ASIA, WHITESNAKE and many more.

The show is noted for being more lighthearted and comedic than other shows on Broadway. During performance, the performers frequently break the "fourth wall", directly addressing the audience and seemingly forgetting (or perhaps reminding the audience) that they are actors in a musical.

Fans of the 2012 movie version starring Tom Cruise will note a number of similarities along with quite a few differences to the Broadway production. In addition to the 23 songs on the movie soundtrack, there are 9 more songs in the musical that are not part of the Hollywood production.
