ROCKY HORROR Comes to New Hope Arts Center, 10/19-28

By:

Dr. Frank N. Furter and his wacky entourage return to New Hope, PA when The Rocky Horror Show comes to the New Hope Arts Center this month. The first week of performances is scheduled for Friday, October 19 at 11:59 pm, Saturday, October 20 at 9 pm and 11:59 pm and Sunday, October 21 at 9 pm. A second weekend of performances will take place on Friday, October 26, Saturday, October 27 and Sunday, October 28. Tickets are $22 online and $25 at the door. The New Hope Arts Center seats 130 so purchasing tickets in advance is highly suggested.

On a dark and stormy night, Brad Majors and Janet Weiss find themselves lost and with a flat tire. Their only choice for help is to knock on the door of a nearby castle where they find Dr. Frank N. Furter and a group of strange characters holding their annual Transylvanian convention. The ensemble includes his servants Riff Raff and Magenta and a groupie named Columbia. The highlight of the evening is the introduction of Frank's ultimate creation, the muscular, Rocky, who seems to be the object of everyone's affection. The question: Will Brad and Janet be able to escape the clutches of Dr. Frank or will they become his play things like the rest of his zany crew?

The Rocky Horror Show has garnered a huge cult following in the region due to annual performances in New Hope, PA. This is the only production of The Rocky Horror Show being performed in the area featuring the actors who made those shows a success. Louis Palena will play Dr. Frank N. Furter and Jill Palena will reprise the role of Janet Weiss.  Lambertville, New Jersey's very own husband and wife acting team, David Whiteman and Jenny Johnson take on the roles of Dr. Scott and Eddie while New Hope, PA resident Lewis Matheney portrays Rocky. This production is an audience participation show with the audience encouraged to dress up as their favorite characters and respond to the performance as it happens.  Audience participation packages will be on sale at the theatre prior to all shows.

The Rocky Horror Show will be presented at the New Hope Arts Center, located at 2 Stockton Avenue (Corner of Bridge Street and Stockton Ave.) in New Hope, PA. Seats are general admission and only 130 seats are available for each performance. Performances are on Friday, October 19 at 11:59 pm, Saturday, October 20 at 9 pm and 11:59 pm and Sunday, October 21 at 9 pm. A second weekend of performances will be held on Friday, October 26 at 11:59 pm, Saturday, October 27 at 9 pm and 11:59 pm and Sunday, October 28 at 9 pm.  Discounted tickets are available online for $22.00 per person.
