People's Light & Theatre Company in Malvern launches its 2010-2011 Season with a mixture of action, comedy, and drama. A thread that runs through each of the plays this year is the concept of family: the family to which one is born, a family of co-workers and friends, or a family created through union with another. It is a season of adventure, laughter, and human connection, with a blend of well-known and newer stories for audiences to enjoy.

6-PLAY SERIES

The season opens with One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, written by Dale Wasserman and based on the beloved novel by Ken Kesey. It is running September 12 - October 16, 2010 on the Main Stage. Jackson Gay directs.
Legacy of Light, a new play by Karen Zacarías, runs October 13 - November 7, 2010 on the Steinbright Stage. This show premiered last season at Washington, D.C.'s Arena Stage. Artistic Director AbiGail Adams directs.
The Three Musketeers: A Musical Panto runs November 17, 2010 - January 9, 2011 on the Main Stage. In what has become a People's Light signature event, The Three Musketeers is the seventh holiday show done in the Panto style. The music and lyrics are written by Philadelphia favorite Michael Ogborn and the script is Kathryn Petersen's seventh Panto for People's Light (the first, Sleeping Beauty, was co-authored with Gary Smith). Pete Pryor directs on the Main Stage. This production is supported in part by TARGET and ING.
The classic The Master Builder, by Henrik Ibsen and translated by Paul Walsh, runs March 23 - April 17, 2011 on the Steinbright Stage. This translation premiered at Yale Repertory Theatre. Ken Marini directs.
The Philadelphia Premiere of the Broadway hit Dividing the Estate, Horton Foote's final play, runs May 11 - June 5, 2011 on the Main Stage. AbiGail Adams directs.

To wrap up the season, Hatchetman, a fast-paced farce by David Wiltse, runs June 15 - July 10, 2011 on the Steinbright Stage. Steve Umberger directs.
