PETER PAN IS DEAD Featured in Philadelphia Fringe Festival, Now thru 9/21

By:

Peter Pan is Dead, a new play by Brandon Monokian, will be performed and simultaneously released as a graphic novel today, September 6th with art by Sara Sciabbarrasi. The stage production will be presented at the William Way LGBT Community Center, today, September 6th - 21st, as a part of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. The show, directed by Monokian, will star Broadway World award winner Ali Gleason, Colleen Kreisel, Caitlin Gutches, and Josephine Patane, with design by April Gormley. The graphic novel will be available for purchase at the performances, as well as online at brandonmakestheatre.com for $7.99.

Peter Pan is Dead is a play about douche-bags, revenge, and navigating the world of love in the year two thousand-and-something. Fairy tales, ancients myths, and the modern world collide in this harsh, yet poignant exploration of youth and expectation. With the comic book, Sciabbarrasi's black and white illustrations allow audiences to experience the text of the play through an unexpected artistic medium.

Playwright Monokian's previous fairy tale adaptation, Grimm Women, has been performed throughout New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia and featured reality television star Briella Calafiore ("Jerseylicious", "Glam Fairy"). His greek myth adaptation, echo, narcissus, narcissus, echo premiered in NYC this past July with the Fresh Fruit Festival following a debut reading produced by Your Name Here: A Queer Theatre Company, starring Christian Coulson ("Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets").

The William Way LGBT Community Center is located at 1315 Spruce St, Philadelphia, PA 19107. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and can be purchased here.
