The RAVEN RESORT proudly announces NEW FEATHERS, a playwright reading series, showcased within their newly refurbished theater, The Oak Room. Devoted to showcasing new & developmental theatrical work, this series will feature the professional and award-wining playwrights of Princeton's Witherspoon Circle. The New Feathers Series will offer a unique, industry-inside view to the creative process with a ground-floor, indie-entertaining format on the first Sunday of every month, commencing Sunday, August 6 from 6pm until 7:45pm. Seats are limited, ensuring an intimate setting and a complimentary wine-tasting from the Raven's international collection is included at the premiere evening on August 6th, starting at 5pm, August 6th.

Tickets are $15.00 each and on sale NOW at EVENTBRITE.COM - New Feathers

With the goal of offering a stimulating, collaborative environment between stage and audience, this series is conceived and co-produced by Mandee K. Hammerstein and strives to provide a personal experience and engagement, while encouraging an inviting forum for audience influence over new works. Patrons will witness a variety of play readings from edgy to outrageous, deranged, dark, delightful and everything in between.

For the first iteration of the series, six shorts, averaging 10-15 minutes each from six fantastic playwrights will be presented as follows on Sunday, August 6:

"Good Counsel" by Lisa Huberman
"The Big Kiss Off" by Michele Aldin Kushner
"The Forever Question" by James Christy Jr.
"To Greatness!" by Greg Nanni
"Compelling Spencer" by Ian August
"It's Only Logical" by Barry M. Putt Jr.

Following, monthly productions TBA

This monthly reading series (first Sunday of every month August through December) provides playwrights a secure outlet to confidentially show their work to the smart, theatre-enthused (or the theatre curious), gathering feedback, aiding in the development of their material. The Raven, as an arts-supporting establishment, is proud to present this series to its vast and varied audience.

"Working closely with Mandee Hammerstein and knowing her experience in theater, I couldn't wait to get her opinion on our beautiful, new theater The Oak Room, we put so much love into it and I knew she could surely help bring it to the life it deserves. When she conceptualized New Feathers, I knew it was a perfect fit as the Raven is a welcoming home to new ideas and has always been a natural place of acceptance for decades, which will make artists especially feel right at home as they reveal their latest creative work in public for the first time" - said Armando Martinez, General Manager at the Raven Resort
