Joy Cutler's ANATOMY LESSON to Play Rotunda Next Month

Joy Cutler's "Anatomy Lesson" is coming to Rotunda (4014 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104) on December 2nd, 2017.

With both poignancy and humor, "Anatomy Lesson" shows how one woman's experience with chronic illness can be a pathway to creating connections between us all. The show is a medical memoir about Joy Cutler's unwanted genetic inheritance, surviving hemodialysis and what it means to be an organ transplant recipient. And it's about Joy's enduring relationship with her young donor who, in losing his life, gave her back her own.

Joy Cutler's stage plays, radio plays and solo performances have been produced in New York, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Chicago, Boston, Alaska, Amsterdam, Berlin and Jakarta. Some of her favorite productions include: The Sensuous Cadaver (Berlin PlayActors, Berlin, Germany), Ramona's Headache (Out To Lunch Theater, Berlin), Pardon My Invasion (Plays and Players Theater, Philadelphia) and Anatomy Lesson (Workshop Theater, NYC). Joy has performed Anatomy Lesson in living rooms, college classrooms and theaters since 2014 when it was first performed during the Philadelphia SoLow Fest. Anatomy Lesson received further development last summer at the Last Frontier Theatre Conference in Valdez, Alaska. Joy is currently working with San Francisco composer Beth Custer on her first musical, Nightshifting, about a narcoleptic medical resident working in a hospital emergency department.
