Gamut Theatre Group's Stage Door Series Closes the Season With FIGHT 'TIL THE LAST GASP: CRY HAVOC, Now thru 8/16

By:

Gamut Theatre Group will present an evening of Shakespearean combat in an original adaptation entitled "FIGHT 'TIL THE LAST GASP: CRY HAVOC." This stage combat showcase will be presented on Fridays and Saturdays, August 8, 9, 15, and 16, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at the Gamut Classic Theatre, on the third floor of Strawberry Square in Downtown Harrisburg.

This production is the latest of Gamut's Stage Door Series, which offers diverse, exciting, classically-themed programming with simpler technical elements than a Mainstage season production, focusing simply on the words and emotional journeys in a piece. All productions in the Stage Door Series are Bring Your Own Price, where any size donation buys admission to the show. The Series' motto is "Come as you are, pay what you will."

"FIGHT 'TIL THE LAST GASP: CRY HAVOC" was conceptualized and adapted by resident fight choreographer and Stage Door Series ensemble member, Dan Burke, who also directs the piece.

"What drew me to such a unique production like this was the rarity in finding a piece of theatre that is completely dedicated to violence," Burke explains. For over 20 years, Dan Burke has been choreographing fights for the stage. He has worked from Central Pennsylvania to New York, and many places in between. Gamut Theatre, the "home of the classic story," provides the perfect venue for a show featuring a full production of scenes taken from Shakespeare's plays.

"FIGHT 'TIL THE LAST GASP: CRY HAVOC" will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 8, Saturday, August 9, Friday, August 15, and Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the Gamut Classic Theatre, Third Floor, Strawberry Square, Downtown Harrisburg. Like all productions in Gamut's Stage Door Series, admission to the show is BYOP ("Bring Your Own Price"): any size donation buys your ticket to the performance. Information on "FIGHT 'TIL THE LAST GASP: CRY HAVOC" can be found at gamutplays.org
