Gamut Theatre Group Presents BUNNY BUNNY, Beginning 1/20

By:

Gamut Theatre Group will present Bunny Bunny: Gilda Radner: A Sort of Love Story by Alan Zweibel which will run Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from January 20 – February 5, 2012 at Gamut Classic Theatre, located at 605 Strawberry Square, Downtown Harrisburg.

This autobiographical play tries to recapture the non-sexual, but deeply felt relationship between Gilda Radner, one of Saturday Night Live's original Not Ready-for-Prime-Time players, and Alan Zweibel, who was a writer for the show. Alternately comic and heartbreaking, the play follows these two overgrown kids as they ride their bumper-car lives right up to Radner's death from ovarian cancer. Their loyalty and love glows through every scene.

Bunny Bunny
is directed by Gamut's Artistic Director, J. Clark Nicholson. He explains why he chose the show for the season, "Both of Gamut's companies: HSC and PHP are rooted in classic comedy and feel very connected to its finest practitioners. In that spirit we presented Neil Simon's The Sunshine Boys last year, and this year we bring you the story of one of America's most loved comediennes, Gilda Radner. Originally a children's theater actor, Gilda's spirit is evident in all of our comedies."

Scenic design by Ian Potter; sound design by Mike Banks; costume design by Erin Schubert; lighting design by Karen Gasser; and produced by Melissa Nicholson.

Gamut Theatre Group is led by Artistic Director Clark Nicholson and Executive Director Melissa Nicholson.

Bunny Bunny
will be presented at Gamut Classic Theatre in Strawberry Square from January 20 through February 5 on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and on Sundays at 2:30pm.  Tickets are $27 for adults and $17 for students/seniors. This production is for mature audiences only. No one under 15 admitted without an adult.

Friday performances are Buy-One-Get-One free ticket shows; Saturday evening performances are Bottle of Wine shows, where one admission is free with purchase of a regular-priced admission and donation of a bottle of wine for HSC's annual Shakespeare's Birthday celebration; Sunday performances are Bring Your Own Price shows, where any size donation buys your admission.
