Brat Productions to Present LOVE BITES, 2/4-6

By:

Just in time for Valentine's Day, Philadelphia's favorite rock and roll theatre company BRAT Productions presents a cabaret of tiny tales of love. Three Chord Fiction: Love Bites pairs teams of actors with musicians in a rock-theatre cabaret designed to introduce audiences to the next generation of cabaret performers and rock musicians. Each team has one directive: to tell a musical tale of L-O-V-E. Following the cabaret, BRAT welcomes a different guest band for an intimate set each night of the series. Performers will include Red 40, Cleo Phatra, Senor Papos and Jota, Len and the Ladies of the Cursed Church Theater. Rock and roll bands include The Fancy Balloons (February 4), TJ Kong (February 5) and Upholstery (February 6). Three Chord Fiction: Love Bites runs Tuesday, February 4, 2014 to Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Tin Angel in Old City District, 20 South 2nd Street. Performances begin at 8:00pm. Tickets are ten dollars at www.bratproductions.org. Show is open to ages 21 and up.

Following in the footsteps of the 2007 edition of Three Chord Fiction, which won a Barrymore Award for New Approaches to Collaboration, the 2014 Valentine's Day edition pairs exciting theatre and cabaret artists with skilled rock and roll musicians. Expect a little gender-bending, a little alcohol, and an intimate night of love-themed rock cabaret to prepare you for Valentine's Day - whether you love it or hate it.

"Sure, you know Martha Graham Cracker and Johnny Showcase. But do you know the NEXT generation of great cabaret performers in Philadelphia?" asked Brat Artistic Director Jess Conda. "Three Chord Fiction is on a mission to bring these singers to the forefront of the cabaret scene. I also hope to bring cabaret audiences and rock audiences together by throwing them together and making them do what they do best -- create great music performance."

Nightly featured performers will include:
* Red 40 - A red headed songstress straight from the house that FUNK built; A little naughty, a little nasty and a lot of goofy
* Cleo Phatra - Philly's favorite super-sized drag sensation, the big b*tch with the big voice
* Senior Papos and Jota - Red hot Latin lovers with a passion for romance
* Jess Conda - Returning as her alter ego Len (with the ladies of the Cursed Church Theater)

The rotating line-up of rock bands includes:
* The Fancy Balloons - Tuesday, Feb 4
* TJ Kong - Wednesday, Feb 5
* Upholstery - Thursday, Feb 6

Tickets are ten dollars at www.bratproductions.org. Show is open to ages 21 and up. Doors open at 7:30pm and the show begins at 8:00pm. Serrano (on the first floor) offers happy hour and dinner seating starting at 5:00pm. For more information, visit www.serranophilly.com.
