Arden Theatre Company Announces One-Week Extension For THE BLUEST EYE

The Arden Theatre Company today announced an extension for Toni Morrison's THE BLUEST EYE through Sunday, April 8, 2018. The show was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, April 1, 2018.

In THE BLUEST EYE, Pecola Breedlove, a young black girl growing up in the 1940's, wants nothing more than to be loved. Confronting turmoil at home, she prays for Shirley Temple's blue eyes, believing their beauty is the only thing standing between her and the happiness of the white girls at school. This powerful adaptation explores the destructive power of racism and the strength of a community attempting to embrace an era of change.

Arden Theatre Company Amy L. Murphy says, "THE BLUEST EYE is a beautiful story by one of today's leading authors, and we are thrilled to share our production with more audience members during this extension week."

Additional performances include:

Thursday, April 5 - 7 p.m.

Friday, April 6 - 8 p.m.

Saturday, April 7 - 2pm

Saturday, April 7 - 8 p.m.

Sunday, April 8 - 2 p.m.
