Producer John Frost announced today that due to huge demand, three additional performances of Driving Miss Daisy have been added to the current Perth season, the final performances of the production in Australia. Driving Miss Daisy will play at Perth's His Majesty's Theatre from June 8-19.

Alfred Uhry's Pulitzer Prize-winning classic play Driving Miss Daisy has proved to be the "must see" event in the 2013 Theatre Season across Australia. Since the sold out Brisbane season opened, the show has been receiving rave reviews from audiences and critics alike, and opened last weekend to great acclaim in Melbourne. The production stars two of the titans of Hollywood and Broadway- five-time Tony Award winner and three-time Academy Award nominee Angela Lansbury and two-time Tony Award winner and Academy Award winner James Earl Jones, alongside four-time Tony Award winner Boyd Gaines.

The Age claimed the production is "an unforgettable moment in theatrical history... it's the acting you're paying for. Angela Lansbury and James Earl Jones are brilliant, unmissable. If you care about theatre, rush to buy tickets before they're all gone." The Courier Mail said, "It was a spine-tingling piece of theatre that pulled you into the performance - and never let you go... they take what is already a warm, funny, engaging and compelling piece of theatre and turn it into something truly magnificent. This is a theatrical masterpiece that those who are fortunate enough to see will never forget." The Australian stated, "From the moment Angela Lansbury and James Earl Jones enter simultaneously from opposite wings in Alfred Uhry's Driving Miss Daisy, the spontaneous eruption of applause indicates that everyone's aware of the theatrical master class lying ahead." Sydney's Sun Herald said, "Watching these two acclaimed performers work their craft with such mastery is a joy and the depth of feeling between them at the end takes you by surprise."

Producer John Frost said, "I'm thrilled that because of overwhelming demand for tickets, we have been able to add three final shows to the Perth season. It is a rare and exceptional opportunity for Australian audiences to see a cast of Broadway and Hollywood royalty in one of the most enduring and popular stage plays of our time. I'm thankful that Angela, James Earl and Boyd have been able to alter their schedules to give Perth audiences the chance to share in this wonderful and moving production that has wowed audiences in Brisbane, Sydney and now Melbourne. Driving Miss Daisy is truly an extraordinary experience!"

A timeless American play, which inspired the beloved Academy Award-winning film, Driving Miss Daisy tells the affecting story of the decades-long relationship between an elderly Southern Jewish woman, Daisy Werthan, and her compassionate African-American chauffeur, Hoke Colburn. Their iconic tale of pride, changing times and the transformative power of friendship has warmed the hearts of millions worldwide.
