We just had a BLAST this past Thursday at Broadway Sessions during our All-Star Open Mic Party! Along with guest host, Anthony Fett, and our incredible Open-Mic singers, we were joined by guest performers Carly Sakolove, Giuseppe Bausillio, Zurin Villanueva, Joel Waggoner, Lauren Elder, Josh Walker, Vishal Vaidya, Josh Bardier, Paul HeeSang Miller and Tim Young! Our fierce Open Mic-ers had a song in our heart, and we are so thrilled that they joined us and helped make it a night to remember!

Wrapping up the Encores! Off-Center season is  Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman's Road Show, running July 24-27. Directed and choreographed by Will Davis, with music direction by James Moore, Road Show tells the somewhat true story of the Mizner brothers who inherit a small fortune at the turn of the 20th Century and set out to grab their piece of the American Dream in a country where anything seems possible. The production will star Chuck Cooper (Papa Mizner), Raul Esparza (Wilson Mizner), Jin Ha (Hollis Bessemer), Mary Beth Peil (Mama Mizner), and Brandon Uranowitz (Addison Mizner).

A music video has been released, featuring many Broadway favorites, urging people to get out and vote. Mario Lopez and Daphne Rubin-Vega lead the performers lending their voices to the song, called Enough Already.

From a Tony and Pulitzer Prize award-winning creative team comes the world-premiere musical comedy DAVE, adapted from the Oscar-nominated film. DAVE tells the story ofhigh school teacher (and presidential lookalike) DAVE Kovic, who is hired by the Secret Service as a stand-in for the Commander-in-Chief. When the President falls ill under less than 'presidential' circumstances, DAVE is thrust into the Oval Office to avoid a national scandal, and must find a way to gain the trust and love of the American people...and the First Lady. Artists for World Peace, a nonprofit organization, recently hosted its 7th annual Broadway event at The Cutting Room. The show was produced by Broadway's own Sharone Sayegh and Wendy Black-Nasta, the founder of AFWP. Following the lead of many other Broadway musicals such as Come From Away, Dear Evan Hansen, and Great Comet, cast members from Groundhog Day have decided to take part in the #Ham4All challenge -- but with a twist! Instead of the typical cover of a Hamilton track, the Groundhog Day cast decided to make a mashup music video with the backbone being My Shot and incorporating lyrics and melodies from songs from their own show.

25 years after the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical production of Frances Hodgson Burnett's classic children's story The Secret Garden, the Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) and the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle co-presents the timeless tale from November 15-December 31 at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW). The musical is directed by David Armstrong, Artistic Director at The 5th Avenue Theatre, with whom STC is co-producing the production.  BroadwayWorld brings you a first look at rehearsals below!

The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park opens its 2015-16 season with the heartwarming, soaring musical THE SECRET GARDEN, based on the enduring family classic penned more than a century ago by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Winner of three Tony Awards on Broadway, with book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Marsha Norman and music by Lucy Simon, THE SECRET GARDEN runs Sept. 5-Oct. 3 in the Playhouse's Robert S.
