Following last night's preview performance of The Last Ship on Broadway, the show's composer and lyricist Sting came onstage for a birthday surprise (he turned 63 yesterday). Watch him sing 'Jock The Singing Welder' below!

Country music star Carrie Underwood will be among the entertainers performing Saturday at the Global Citizen Festival in New York City's Central Park.

Executive Producers Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell, Pippin) and Bruce Cohen (American Beauty, Milk, Silver Linings Playbook) just presented an all-star lineup for Uprising of Love: A Benefit Concert for Global Equality night, September 15th at Broadway's Gershwin Theatre. THE LAST SHIP -- the new musical with music and lyrics by 16-time Grammy Award-winner Sting and book by Tony Award-winner John Logan and Pulitzer Prize-winner Brian Yorkey -- will begin previews September 29 on Broadway, prior to opening night on October 26. The Last Ship is directed by Tony Award-winner Joe Mantello and choreographed by Olivier Award-winner and Tony Award-nominee Steven Hoggett. Musical direction, orchestrations and arrangements are by Emmy Award-winning and multi Grammy-nominated producer Rob Mathes. Check out a just-released commercial for the new musical below!

At this year's TED Conference in Vancouver, Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter/composer Sting took to the stage to perform songs from his Broadway-bound musical THE LAST SHIP. During this taped performance, Sting talks about his past, his seemingly-endless writer's block, and the inspiring music that he had been able to develop as a result.

It was a little bit country and a little bit rock n' roll as the American Idol Top 6 each performed twice on the Idol stage!

Legendary singer Sting stopped by this morning's TODAY to talk about bringing his new musical THE LAST SHIP to Broadway this October.

The Last Ship, with an original score by 16-time Grammy Award® winner Sting, will have its pre-Broadway World Premiere at Chicago's Bank of America Theatre (18 West Monroe) from June 10 - July 13, 2014. The Last Ship will open on Broadway in the fall of 2014. An epic yet intimate tale inspired by Sting's own childhood experiences, this World Premiere production features direction by two-time Tony Award® winner Joe Mantello (Wicked), a book by Tony Award® winner John Logan (Red) and Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award® winner Brian Yorkey (Next to Normal) and choreography by Olivier Award winner and Tony Award® Nominee Steven Hoggett (Once).
