Ride the Cylcone, this season's dark and hilarious co-production between The 5th Avenue Theatreand ACT - A Contemporary Theatre, is now in preview performances and has its official opening night this Thursday, March 22 at ACT - A Contemporary Theatre. The award-winning director and choreographer Rachel Rockwell has continued to refine and explore the world of Ride the Cyclone with its writers Brooke Maxwell and Jacob Richmond, returning to direct after working on its two previous U.S. productions in Chicago and Off Broadway. This co-production, which is the eighth collaboration between The 5th and ACT, will showcase new developments to the script and score. At least one third of the script has been newly created for this production, which is in addition to countless small but crucial tweaks and refinements. These new developments have continued to define and shape the world that the Saint Cassian High School Chamber Choir inhabits onstage.

SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE, based on the Academy-Award winning film of the same name, opened at Asolo Rep on January 11th and runs through March 28th. SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE imagines a young William Shakespeare, desperately trying to come up with an idea for his next play. Enter Viola, a young woman who begins as his admirer and ends up as his muse.

Based on the novel of the same name by Ray Bradbury, the world premiere of SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES will run at the Delaware Theatre Company through October 8.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) is presenting the summer family musical production Madagascar - A Musical Adventure, at the Theater's home on Navy Pier, now through August 27, 2017. Rachel Rockwell takes the helm as the production's director and choreographer. MCC Theater will soon present the New York City premiere of the new musical Ride the Cyclone, which marks just the third musical in MCC's now-iconic 30-year history of producing new works for the American theater. With book, music and lyrics by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell, Ride the Cyclone had its celebrated U.S. premiere in 2015 at Chicago Shakespeare Theater under the direction and choreography of Rachel Rockwell, who returns for the MCC production.

The Old Globe presents the West Coast premiere of OCTOBER SKY, which will blast off the Globe's 2016-2017 Season with a tale of boys, rockets, and big dreams. OCTOBER SKY will run now through October 23, 2016 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.
