Earlier this year, Lincoln Center's acclaimed series American Songbook, in keeping with American Songbook's tradition of honoring great composers and lyricists, welcomed IF/THEN composers Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey. The March 1st program featured Kitt & Yorkey, joined by leading lady Idina Menzel, who previewed two songs from the show- 'Here I Go' and 'Learn to Live Without' and you can check out the flashback below!

The Public Theater presents the New York premiere production of Giant, an epic love story with book by Sybille Pearson, music and lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa and directed by Michael Greif. Dallas Theater Center presents Giant at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre at the AT&T Performing Arts Center through Feb. 19. Tony Award-nominated Michael Greif will direct this new musical by Sybille Pearson and Michael John LaChiusa. Aaron Lazar stars as Bick and Tony Award nominee Kate Baldwin (Finian's Rainbow) plays Leslie. Lazarand Baldwin recently stopped by Dallas' GMT whwre they performed a song from the show. Last night, September 28, Green Day frontman and the musical's composer/ co-author Billie Joe Armstrong made his Broadway debut as 'St. Jimmy' at the St. James Theatre in AMERICAN IDIOT. Armstrong will perform through Sunday, October 3, 2010. Immediately following this engagement, Mr. Armstrong will join Green Day in Caracas, Venezuela on October 8, 2010 to kick off their South American Tour. Last night, September 13, the cast of AMERICAN IDIOT joined Green Day onstage for the halftime show of the NY Jets game at the New Meadowlands Stadium, performing a rendition of Green Day's Last Of The American Girls. Sands, who was nominated in 2007 for his role in JOURNEY'S END, plays Tunny in the Green Day musical.
