The new Broadway revival of THE COLOR PURPLE opened just last night, December 10, at theBernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 W 45th Street). Grammy, Academy Award, and Golden Globe award winner Jennifer Hudson makes her Broadway debut opposite Cynthia Erivo, the breakout star of John Doyle's acclaimed Menier Chocolate Factory production, and Orange is the New Black's Danielle Brooks, in the highly anticipated production of The Color Purple. MARY-KATE and the SEVEN, based loosely on the story of Snow White and her 7 dwarfs, looks at the ever widening gulf between the 'haves' and the 'have nots' in modern day America and the extremes of celebrity. One of the Olsen twins is hungry for fame while the other is just hungry... for a cookie. When the 7 men find the aforementioned Olsen twin in their dumpster, is she perhaps their ticket out of the hellish life they are living? Could they, should they, ransom her? And if they do, will her sister want her back or is she more valuable in terms of celebrity if she is missing or better yet, dead? How much do we really need to be happy?

Happy Birthday Marin Mazzie! Marin most recently starred in the off-Broadway revival of Carrie. Before that she led the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical, Next to Normal and in the Broadway production of Enron. She received Tony and Drama Desk nominations and an Outer Critics Circle Award for her performance as Lilli/Katharine in the hit revival of Kiss Me, Kate, and later received an Olivier Award nomination when she made her West End debut in the show. Other Broadway credits include: Monty Python's Spamalot (also West End), Ragtime (Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics nominations), Passion (Tony nomination), Man of La Mancha, Into the Woods, Big River, and Out of this World and Kismet (Encores!).

The Broadway transfer of The Royal Shakespeare Company's Wolf Hall: Parts 1 & 2 began previews on March 20, 2015 at the Winter Garden Theatre, and opened Thursday night, April 9, 2015. Wolf Hall: Parts 1 & 2, which explores the deceit, betrayal, and intrigue of the court of Henry VIII, is written by Dame Hilary Manteland adapted by Mike Poulton.
