Second Stage Theatre will conclude its 33rd season with the World Premiere of the new musical, DOGFIGHT, featuring music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, a book by Peter Duchan and directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello. Winner of the prestigious 2011 Richards Rodgers Award for Musical Theatre, DOGFIGHT will be performed at Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theatre (305 West 43rd street) this summer. Today in 1962, Broadway director and actor Joe Mantello was born. Mantello is perhaps best known for his work on Broadway productions of Wicked, Take Me Out and Assassins, as well as earlier in his career being one of the original Broadway cast of Angels in America. He most recently starred in last year's Tony winning revival of The Normal Heart, and in celebration of his birthday, you can check out a scene from the show below!

Lincoln Center Theater's production of BLOOD AND GIFTS, a new play by J.T. Rogers, directed by Bartlett Sher, beings previews tomorrow (Thursday, Oct. 27) at 8 pm at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street). The cast features Michael Aronov, Jeremy Davidson, Robert Hogan, Jefferson Mays, Andrés Munar, Rudy Mungaray, J. '8,' a new play chronicling the historic trial in the federal legal challenge to California's Proposition 8 will have its World Premiere on Broadway in a one night-only staged reading to benefit the American Foundation for Equal Rights (AFER). The play is written by AFER Founding Board Member and Academy Award-winning writer Dustin Lance Black and directed by two-time Tony Award-winning actor and director Joe Mantello. Black, who penned the Academy Award-winning feature film Milk, based '8' on the actual words of the trial transcripts, first-hand observations of the courtroom drama and interviews with the plaintiffs and their families. The reading is now completely sold-out!

Produced by Daryl Roth and directed by Joel Grey and George C. These wins helped 'The Normal Heart' become the number one search term on Google all across America on 'Tony Sunday.' Since then, The Normal Heart's daily box office wrap has more than tripled from their average daily sales before Sunday's Tony Awards.
