Entertainment icon Carol Burnett stopped by CBS's THE TALK to chat about her upcoming SAG Life Achievement Award honor, with Carol saying, 'when I heard about it… I was absolutely gobsmacked. I'm thrilled.'

Japan can't get enough of PRINCE OF BROADWAY (see video below), and that's too bad, because there are just five performances left at Osaka's Umeda Arts Theatre. On opening night, after a solid ten minutes of applause after the final curtain, Prince and the rest of the creative team went out one more time. Despite the show's success overseas, an official announcement has not yet been made regrading a run on Broadway... but that hasn't kept us from wondering. So what's next for PRINCE? We're keeping our appendages crossed for an announcement soon and we'll keep you posted with updates!

Happy Birthday, Beth Leavel! Beth received Tony, Drama Desk, NY Outer Critics Circle and L.A. Drama Critics Awards for her performance as the title character in The Drowsy Chaperone. Beth also received a Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle nomination for her role as Florence Greenberg in Baby It's You. She recently performed the roles of Sally Adams in Call Me Madam at Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, M'Lynn in Steel Magnolias at the North Carolina Theatre and the much put upon maid, Berthe, in Boeing-Boeing at the Paper Mill Playhouse. This week's spotlight is on Joel Waggoner and Eric Price, whose new original musical PRESTO CHANGE-O is commissioned by Barrington Stage and directed by Marc Bruni (Beautiful). It tells the story of a family of stage magicians who find themselves living under the same roof for the first time in years. In this song, Tina, who is the family's maid and maintains their ever-growing collection of artifacts from the history of magic, reveals her larger ambitions. Here is the talented Janet Krupin (If/Then) performing the song at our concert at 54 Below.

The Elaine Stritch Memorial Tribute 'Everybody, Rise! A Celebration of Elaine Stritch' was held earlier this week at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, featuring Bernadette Peters, Nathan Lane, Lena Hall, Hal Prince, Betty Buckley,Christine Ebersole, Laura Benanti, Michael Feinstein and more, all on hand to share songs and stories of the theatre legend's life. Featured at the special gathering was this rare clip of the Broadway legend singing her signature song from Company- 'Ladies Who Lunch.' Click below to watch the legend in action.

The company of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is the latest Broadway ensemble to take part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, which they accepted from the cast of LES MISERABLES. Just yesterday, the Broadway community gathered together to celebrate the life and show business legacy of beloved Broadway performer Kevin Gray at The Majestic Theatre (247 West 44th Street). The Majestic Theatre held a special place for Mr. Gray, having starred there in The Phantom of the Opera, first as Raoul and later as The Phantom.
