Eric Idle, the famous member of the absurdist-comedy collective Monty Python, recently joined forces with composer John Du Prez to create 'Not the Messiah (He's a Very Naughty Boy),' a zany pastiche based on Monty Python's 1979 film 'The Life of Brian,' and Handel's Messiah.

Bainbridge Performing Arts will stage MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT, presented by Merrill Lynch Wealth Maangement and opening December 5. Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail,' SPAMALOT retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table- featuring cows, killer rabbits, and a Diva to end all divas. The five surviving members of Monty Python just bid an emotional farewell in their final performance of MONTY PYTHON LIVE (MOSTLY) at London's O2 Arena. For the first time in more than three decades, Monty Python comedy legends John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin reunited on stage for this special, historic trip down memory lane. Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) brings the humor and magic of Dr. Seuss to life onstage this summer for young audiences and their families in the Broadway musical comedy Seussical. Playful, energetic and full of whimsy, Seussical engages the imagination with clever lyrics and melodies, unforgettable characters and the colorful world of Dr. Seuss. Seussical is written by the Tony Award®-winning team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, whose works include Ragtime, Once on This Island and the current Broadway production of Rocky, The Musical. Eric Idle of Monty Python and Spamalot fame co-conceived the musical. Directed by Scott Weinstein with musical direction by Michael Mahler, Seussical will be performed July 5 through August 17 in CST's Courtyard Theater. Every performance features special opportunities for audiences to interact with the actors for one-on-one conversations and photo opportunities. Eric Idle, a member of the Monty Python team, wrote the musical's book and lyrics and collaborated with John Du Prez on most of the music. The original 2005 Broadway production, directed by Mike Nichols, won three Tony Awards, including the Tony Award for Best Musical of the 2004-2005 season and received 14 Tony Award nominations.

Comedy troupe Monty Python appeared on the BBC talk show THE GRAHAM NORTON SHOW for a Christmas reunion and will make an encore appearance on tonight's New Year's Eve show.
