The songwriting team behind Come From Away, Irene Sankoff and David Hein, have written a new song to celebrate Canada, called This is Canada Nice!

In a recent video recorded for 'Sunday Morning' viewers, cast members from the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Come From Away talk about this year's virtual '9/11 Day at Home' events.

Broadway's Come From Away hit the stage for CUT FROM AWAY: THE UNTOLD STORIES & SONGS, a one night only concert event at Feinstein's/54 Below earlier this year.

The Broadway and touring casts of Come From Away have come together to send a message of thanks to all of the medical professionals risking their lives every day during the current health crisis.

In July 2009, in the backroom of a narrow shop, two young, first-time playwrights performed their first musical at the Toronto Fringe. The show had a quirky title that immediately got it attention. When the first audiences saw it, they knew they were witnessing something unique from writers who had a very promising future. The show became a Fringe sensation. Four months later, David Mirvish, the largest Canadian commercial theatre producer, presented a longer vision of the show at the 700-seat Panasonic Theatre (now the CAA Theatre), where it was extended five times. Come From Away celebrated its 500th performance in Toronto with a giant cake, and producer Randy Adams on hand to say a few words. Check out the video below!

Come From Away now has four separate companies performing across the world - Broadway, Toronto, London, and the North American Tour. To celebrate the show's second anniversary on Broadway, the producers made a video of its four casts performing the finale.

The critically acclaimed new musical, COME FROM AWAY is now playing on Broadway, Toronto and a third company is touring North America. The Tony Award-winning musical Come From Away had its official launch on October 10 at London's Canada House - where the full cast was unveiled! The show will have its European premiere at The Abbey Theatre this December, before transferring to The Phoenix Theatre in the West End.

The national tour of Come From Away opened last week at The 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle. Becky Gulsvig, who plays Captain Beverley Bass, among others, recently performed the song 'Me and the Sky' on K5 News. Following the performance, she joined the real-life Beverley Bass to talk more about the story's background.
