A big msuical revival will arrive in just a week, marking the first time since Spring Awakening has played on Broadway since its original 2006 run. Today, BWW is continuing our SHOWTUNE SHUFFLE series by tributing both the new kids and the original cast with 'The Bitch of Living.'

Deaf West's acclaimed production of Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik's Spring Awakening, directed by Michael Arden and choreographed by Spencer Liff, began rehearsals earlier this month for its big Broadway transfer. Earlier this week, the company invited the press inside their rehearsal room for a sneak peek of what they've been working on. Following the success of their FUN HOME/Ingrid Michaelson mashup, Melanie Brook, Anna Ty Bergman, and Kerri George have debuted a new video on YouTube - this time featuring two songs by Sara Bareilles, including one from the Broadway-bound musical WAITRESS!

Today in 2007, the second Broadway revival of Grease opened at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, where it ran for 554 performances. Grease is a 1971 musical by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. The musical is named for the 1950s United States working-class youth subculture known as the greasers. The musical, set in 1959 at fictional Rydell High School (loosely based on William Howard Taft School), follows ten working-class teenagers as they navigate the complexities of love, cars, and drive-ins.

After the SCOTUS ruling on Friday legalizing gay marriage, many Broadway personalities took to varied platforms to share heartfelt messages about what the ruling means to them. One such was Tony Award-winner Tyne Daly, who addressed the theatre after Friday night's IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU performance. Check out her whole speech below!
