Producers Whoopi Goldberg and Stage Entertainment have announced that Raven-Symone will take over the leading role of Deloris Van Cartier in the hit Broadway musical, SISTER ACT, beginning performances on Tuesday, March 27. Ms. Symoné will take over the role from Tony and Olivier Award nominee PATINA MILLER, who will give her final performance on Sunday, March 18. On November 17, Macy's Herald Square kicked-off the season with a heavenly evening of holiday magic at the annual Christmas window unveiling on Broadway Boulevard. Directed on Broadway by four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks (Guys and Dolls, A Funny Thing...Forum, Smokey Joe's Café), the production features choreography by Tony and Olivier Award nominee Anthony Van Laast (Mamma Mia, Bombay Dreams) and is based on the Touchstone Pictures motion picture Sister Act written by Joseph Howard.

President Barack Obama was in New York City yesterday to begin fundraising for his 2012 re-election campaign. As part of the visit, he invited potential endorsers to a performance of SISTER ACT as part of an event hosted by producer Whoopi Goldberg. Tickets for the special performance and evening event ranged from $250 to $10,000 (the latter of which includes a photo shoot with the President).
