On Monday night, the biggest names from Broadway and Hollywood took the stage for aHillary Clinton fundraiser- STRONGER TOGETHER. One of the highlights of the event, which took place at New York's St. James Theatre, featured Tony Award winners Lin-Manuel Miranda and his Hamilton co-star Renee Elise Goldsberry, performing a revised election-themed version of the musical's, 'Ten Duel Commandments.' During her show this week at The Winery at St. George in Mohegan Lake, NY, Andrea McArdle welcomed former ANNIE cast mate and original replacement for the titular role, Shelley Bruce, onstage for a duet of the first act ballad, 'Maybe'.

Last night, BroadwayWorld was at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown Orlando, Florida for the 'From Broadway with Love' concert to benefit the Central Florida LGBTQ Community and the victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting. Happy Birthday Andrea McArdle! As 'Annie,' McArdle became the youngest performer ever to be nominated for a Tony Award as Best Lead Actress in a Musical. Also on Broadway, she starred in the Jerry Herman musical Jerry's Girls alongside Carol Channing and Leslie Uggams; she portrayed the sassy Smoking Car, Ashley, in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Starlight Express; and starred as Margy Frake in State Fair; as Fantine in Les Miserables and, most recently as Belle in Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

Michael Arden, Kelli Barrett, Bill Berloni, Robert Fairchild, Sutton Foster, Lesli Margherita, Andrea McArdle, Orfeh,Hugh Panaro, Kate Rockwell, Jarrod Spector and Alysha Umphress all took part in Best in Shows, a star-studded cabaret evening to benefit the Humane Society of New York, at Feinstein's/ 54 Below. Oscar and Tony Award-winnerJoel Grey was awarded the first annual Humane Society of New York's Sandy Award, presented to an artist who has shown a fierce commitment, through action and advocacy, to the cause of animal rights.

Via Andrea McArdle and the Original Broadway Cast of ANNIE, is a clip from an Television Special that aired on NBC, in 1977, the year the musical opened on Broadway at the ALVIN Theatre and became a bonafide SMASH! THE ANNIE CHRISTMAS SPECIAL was not particularly good, but was capitalizing on the name of the show that suddenly everyone was talking about.

To kick off the release of famed Sirius XM radio host Seth Rudetsky new book Seth's Broadway Diary, Dress Circle Publishing (Brisa Trinchero and Roberta Pereira, founders) hosted a special book launch concert event last night at Don't Tell Mama (343 W 46th St). Broadway stars Kelli O'Hara, Judy Kuhn, Anika Larsen, Hunter Bell, Jeff Bowen,Chip Zien and Marc Shaiman who are featured in the book performed excerpts and some of Seth's favorite songs. The Shapiro Sisters' debut album LIVE OUT LOUD: LIVE AT 54 BELOW will be released on September 9th, 2014. The Shapiro Sisters, 11-year old Milly Shapiro (Matilda, Original Broadway Cast of Matilda The Musical) and older sister, 14-year-old Abigail Shapiro (Cindy Lou Who, How The Grinch Stole Christmas), recorded the album live at the famed 54 BELOW over a series of three performances this past May and June. The Shapiro Sisters will be returning to 54 BELOW this Thursday, August 28th at 7:00 PM for an encore performance to celebrate the launch of their new CD.
