Mound Valley, Kansas nativeand Traditional Country music performer and James Wesley, was recognized by Labette Community College, in Parsons, KS, during the 22nd Annual Donor Appreciation Luncheon on Friday, November 1st and presented the William and Allene Guthrie Van Meter Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award by President Mark Watkins. The award recognized his achievements, service and many contributions to the music industry. The award is named in memory of the Van Meters for their generous estate gift that funded renovationof Thiebaud Theatre at LCC.
Southwestern Yacht Club (SWYC) presents its 48th annual Benefit on the Bay with three events on May 5, June 16 and 17, 2018. The events are open to the public, giving San Diego anglers and sailors the chance to experience the club while also benefiting ElderHelp of San Diego. To date, more than $750,000 has been raised by SWYC and its sponsors through these annual events, ensuring that San Diego seniors can remain independent and live with dignity in their own homes.

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, announces a one-week extension of the World Premiere of Chapatti, a new work developed through Northlight's Interplay program and co-produced with Galway Arts Festival. Chapatti, by acclaimed Irish playwright Christian O' Reilly, is directed by Artistic Director BJ Jones and features John Mahoney and Penny Slusher. The production will run at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie, through April 19, 2014, and will play at the Galway Arts Festival in July 2014.
