New Georges will present World Premiere productions by Kate Benson (2014 Clubbed Thumb Biennial Commission winner), Krista Knight (Salamander Leviathan at Joe's Pub; Clementine and the Cyber Ducks at Incubator Arts Project), and Caroline V. McGraw (2013 Page 73 Playwriting Fellow) as part of The New Georges Jam On Toast, a brand-new festival featuring work by The New Georges Jam, a 'performance gym' for early-career female playwrights and directors founded in 2010 by Lucy Alibar, Jess Chayes, and Portia Krieger.

Two years ago, The New Ohio Theatre and IRT Theater (new neighbors in the historic Archive Building on Christopher Street) kicked-off their exciting new developing and presenting initiative: the Archive Residency. The Archive Residency offers select independent theatre companies a two-year commitment of space, artistic support, and institutional continuity for the development and presentation of a new work. Red Bull Theater will present the 30th Anniversary Revival of Charles Ludlam's The Mystery of Irma Vep, starring Arnie Burton and Robert Sella, directed by Everett Quinton. The Mystery of Irma Vep will have scenic design by John Arnone, costume design by Ramona Ponce, lighting design by Peter West, and sound design by Brandon Wolcott.

Two River Theater Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Dias and Managing Director Michael Hurst, continues its 2013/2014 Season with Shakespeare's romantic comedy As You Like it, directed by Michael Sexton (Two River's Henry V), the Artistic Director of the Shakespeare Society in New York. Performances will begin in Two River's Rechnitz Theater, 21 Bridge Avenue, on Saturday, January 25, with the opening night on Friday, January 31 at 8pm. The Public Theater announced a two-week extension for The Foundry Theatre's GOOD PERSON OF SZECHWAN by Bertolt Brecht. With a translation by John Willett and directed by Lear deBessonet, GOOD PERSON OF SZECHWAN began performances on Friday, October 18 and was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, November 24. The show officially opened on Tuesday, October 29 and will now run an additional two weeks to Sunday, December 8.

The new play, Hit The Wall by Ike Holter, a theatrical exploration of the first night of the 1969 Stonewall Riots, directed by Eric Hoff, and with original music & music supervision by Dan Lipton, will end its run today, April 28, 2013 at the Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street) where it began performances on February 19, 2013.

The Foundry Theatre has announced that its critically acclaimed production of Bertolt Brecht's Good Person of Szechwan will reopen this fall as part of The Public Theater's 2013-14 season. The Public's five-week run of the show, October 18 - November 24, will reunite the entire original cast and creative team-including director Lear deBessonet, Taylor Mac as Shen Tei / Shui Ta, and Cesar Alvarez and the band The Lisps-from the sold-out La MaMa presentation in February 2013. Tickets will go on sale later this year.

Red Bull Theater will present the American Premiere of a new adaptation of August Strindberg's The Dance of Death by Mike Poulton (Tony Award Nominee for Best Play for Fortune's Fool), directed by Joseph Hardy (Tony Award winner for Best Director for Child's Play), for a strictly limited engagement beginning tonight, April 10th and continuing through May 4th only, at the Lucille Lortel Theater (121 Christopher Street, between Bleecker and Hudson Streets). Opening Night is set for Thursday April 18th.
