Izzy Klein has (barely) graduated from college, broken up (sorta) with her boyfriend, and is stranded in New York City with a bad case of pre-real-world millennial-itis. MarVista Entertainment and Parkside Pictures announced today the acquisition of actor/director Lea Thompson's debut feature THE YEAR OF SPECTACULAR MEN, which bowed at the 2017 Los Angeles Film Festival. Thompson directed from a script by daughter Madelyn Deutch and plays a supporting role opposite both Deutch and her other daughter Zoey Deutch (BEFORE I FALL, WHY HIM?). Zoey Deutch and Thompson's husband Howard Deutch (PRETTY IN PINK) served as the film's producers, alongside Gordon Gilbertson and Parkside's Dan Roth and Damiano Tucci. MarVista, which recently produced Marianna Palka's 2017 Sundance entrant BITCH, has set a mid-June 2018 theatrical release date.
