New York City actor and musician James Parenti has nurtured a love of verse all his life, and May Violets Spring is his first outing as an adapter and playwright. In 2011, while preparing to play the title role in Shakespeare's Hamlet, Parenti became frustrated by Ophelia's limited place in the story. Dreaming of a production of Hamlet that gave Ophelia a voice, over the next three years Parenti adapted the material himself. The result is a love letter to classical heroines slighted by the narratives of our past and too often in productions of the present.

As the clock ticks toward the anticipated premiere of 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY, a special half-hour behind-the-scenes preview of the event series, 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY: JACK IS BACK, will air Saturday, May 3 (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Featuring interviews with the series' Emmy Award-winning director, producers and series stars, the special takes a behind-the-scenes look at the action, cast and production on location in London.

Shrunken Shakespeare Company (SSC), in association with Joe Paradise, announced today that Nigerian-born Royal Shakespeare Company associate artist Chukwudi Iwuji (The Public/RSC: Anthony and Cleopatra; London Old Vic/BAM: Richard III with Kevin Spacey) has joined the cast of Paul Sorvino's world premiere adaption of Lear as part of their 2014 Fundraiser Gala, including Broadway, Off-Broadway and TV veterans. The Gala will be held on Monday, April 21st at 7:30pm, at TBG Theatre located at 312 W 36th Street, 3rd Floor in NYC.

New dances by Robert La Fosse and Andrea Miller, plus Twyla Tharp's 'Treefrog in Stonehenge'-- each created with the fresh vibrancy of youth in mind -- will be showcased during Barnard/Columbia Dances at Miller 2014, April 25 and 26. The short, but packed season also features 'Lamentation Variations,' a series of new interpretations of Martha Graham's 1930 iconic solo.

The Department of Dance presents 'America to China and Back,' a stateside reprise of the contemporary dance program performed by Ohio State dance students as the Susan Van Pelt Petry Touring Company in China in March. The eight pieces will be staged at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, and Friday, April 18, in the Riffe Center's Studio Two Theatre, 77 South High St.

FOX has released a new poster and promo for the highly anticipated drama '24: Live Another Day,' which will premiere with a special two-hour television event Monday, May 5 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT).
