Tedd Robinson & Vicki St. Denys to Headline MOonhORsE's OLDER & RECKLESS #31, 2/28-3/2

Older & Reckless, MOonhORsE Dance Theatre's celebrated series curated by Artistic Director Claudia Moore, presents ALL DUETS featuring seven dance artists, a poet and a five-piece band in four evocative duets. Michael Marye with Suzette Sherman, Vivine Scarlett with poet Michelle Muir, Stelio Calagias with Tim Spain, and Yvonne Ng with Robert Glumbek take the stage from February 28 - March 2 in Edition #31 of Older and Reckless.

Soweto Gospel Choir to Perform at Byham Theater, 2/27

This event is part of the Cohen & Grigsby Trust Presents series. In February of this year, Soweto Gospel Choir will launch their fifth major North American tour. Visiting over 30 cities across the U.S. during the upcoming three months, Soweto Gospel Choir's concerts will celebrate their musical heritage that reflects the color and vibrancy of their rainbow nation and honor the life and legacy of their late President and friend, Nelson Mandela.

Red Hen Press Announces the Winners of 2013 Awards Series

Red Hen Press is pleased to announce the winners of its 2013 awards series. The Benjamin Saltman Poetry Award, theRHP Short Story Award, and the RHP Poetry Award are given each year for, respectively, an unpublished original poetry collection, short story, and individual poem. Together with the A Room of Her Own Foundation, Red Hen Press also awards the To the Lighthouse Poetry Publication Prize to a female author of an unpublished original poetry collection. Last year, Red Hen Press and The Los Angeles Review held the first annual Wild Light Poetry Contest for an original poem. All winners receive publication and an honorarium.

The Secret Theatre has announced the production of Kari Bentley-Quinn's The Unlikely Ascent of Sybil Stevens directed by New Voices Co-Director Christopher Diercksen. The Unlikely Ascent of Sybil Stevens will play a three-week limited engagement at The Secret Theatre (4402 23rd Street, Long Island City, NY 11101). Performances begin Thursday, February 6 and continue through Sunday, February 23, 2014.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater Announces Casting for SHORT SHAKESPEARE! A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, 2/22-3/22

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announces casting for Short Shakespeare! A Midsummer Night's Dream, a 75-minute abridged production of William Shakespeare's whimsical comedy of misplaced young passions and magical mischief. This new adaptation by Jeff Award-winning director David H. Bell provides a quality, family-friendly introduction to Shakespeare with special opportunities for audiences to interact with the actors at every performance. In addition to public performances each Saturday, this production will welcome 1,000 students each day to the Theater's home on Navy Pier during its five-week run in the Courtyard Theater, followed by a tour to schools across the Midwest. Short Shakespeare! A Midsummer Night's Dream will be performed for the public Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. from February 22 to March 22 in CST's Courtyard Theater. After each performance, the actors remain on stage for a brief question-and-answer session, before joining the audience in the Lobby for one-on-one conversations and photo opportunities.

DanceWorks Presents A SOLDIER'S TALE, Choreographed by Michael Greyeyes, 2/20-22

DanceWorks, Toronto's longest-running contemporary dance series now in its 37th season, proudly presents the world premiere of A Soldier's Tale, a powerful dance theatre work choreographed and directed by Signal Theatre Artistic Director Michael Greyeyes that probes the lives of soldiers over the span of fifty years. Gulfshore Playhouse Presents World Premiere of Suzanne Bradbeer's THE GOD GAME, Now thru 2/9

Gulfshore Playhouse will produce their first World Premiere with The God Game by Suzanne Bradbeer, playing tonight, January 17th through February 9th with a $25 preview performance on January 16th. The God Game is being produced in association with Capital Repertory Theatre in Albany, New York who will present the production in May 2014.
