The New York Drama Critics' Circle met on May 3, 2013, at the offices of Time Out New York magazine, to determine the winners of its 78th annual awards. As part of its 2012-2013 producing Season, HERE will present You Are Dead. You Are Here. Together, playwright Christine Evans, director Joseph Megel and media designer Jared Mezzocchi have formed Transit Lounge, and You Are Dead. You Are Here. marks the company's debut production. This world premiere plays a limited engagement June 5-22, with Official Opening Night on Sunday, June 9 at 8:30PM at HERE (145 Sixth Avenue, just below Spring Street).

It's King Lear. But there's no King Lear. Experimental playwright and Doris Duke Artist Award winner Young Jean Lee has penned a whimsical and psychologically disturbing look at a world in which the pater familias is noticeably absent. The children are left to run the show but they must first overcome their anxiety and regret. As the story goes off the rails, Big Bird arrives to help us make sense of the madness. This is James D Palmer's return to Lee's work after Church/Pullman, WA, one of Time Out Chicago's Top Plays of 2011.
Red Tape Theatre has announced that Artistic Director and founding ensemble member James D Palmer (The Love of the Nightingale, Elephant's Graveyard), has been accepted into the MFA Directing Program at Brown/Trinity. His final Chicago production will be Lear, which marks James' return to the work of Young Jean Lee following the successful production of her two plays Church and Pullman, Wa in 2011.
