Tilles Center for the Performing Arts at LIU Post today announced its 2017-18 season. The entire season will be presented by Capital One. Houston Symphony Executive Director & CEO Mark C. Hanson Tapped to Lead San Francisco Symphony

The Houston Symphony announced today that Mark C. Hanson, its Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer, will step down from his role this summer to join the San Francisco Symphony as Executive Director. Hanson, who has been at the orchestra's helm since May 2010 and holds the Margaret Alkek Williams Executive Director/CEO Chair, will begin his new post on September 1.

Limiting access initially to a small group of university and conservatory students, New World Symphony, America's Orchestral Academy (NWS), now launches its online MUSAIC platform to the general public, in partnership with nine leading universities and conservatories (http://musaic.nws.edu/). Catering to a wide demographic from high-school students and college music majors to young professional musicians and serious amateurs, MUSAIC offers 24/7 access to an extensive video catalog of classical musical instruction, advice, and insight. Among the musicians to contribute content are Michael Tilson Thomas, Thomas Hampson, Yo-Yo Ma, Paula Robison, and Gil Shaham, as well as current and former members of some of the world's leading orchestras and educational institutions.

NYU Skirball's 2017-18 dance season kicks off on September 15 with a FREE immersive dance party by the unconventional dance company AUNTS, and continues with the American premiere of Congolese choreographer Faustin Linyekula's In Search of Dinozord, a heart-wrenching look at the consequences of war, on September 22 and 23. The season, the first curated by Skirball's new director, Jay Wegman, will showcase diverse and cutting-edge international talent from Brussels, Denmark, France, Germany, Republic of Congo, the U.K. and the United States.

Music Mountain, America's Oldest Continuing Summer Chamber Music Festival, continues its 88th season with a very special program featuring renowned pianist Peter Serkin with Anna Polonsky performing works by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms and Schubert for Piano 4 Hands on Sunday, July 2nd (3pm). The weekend gets off to a swinging start on Saturday, July 1st (6:30pm) with Swingtime Big Band! Concerts are scheduled thru September 17th.
