The casting of the premiere of RENT at the Hollywood Bowl is completed; Nicole Scherzinger, solo artist, lead singer of The Pussycat Dolls, and this season's winner of Dancing With the Stars, will play Maureen.

Famed performance space Joe's Pub has announced a revised upcoming line up of event in November and early December. Performers include Lauren Abrose, Coleman Domingo, Capathia Jenkins and Louis Rosen, Hair's Caissie Levy, and more. Kelly Joe Phelps who was previously scheduled to perform on 11/14, has pulled out and has been replaced PT Walkley.

MTV hopes to make its mark in the original musical arena with plans afoot for The American Mall. The project, from High School Musical producers Bill Borden and Barry Rosenbush, will premiere in the summer on the cable network, followed immediately by a release on DVD
