Portland Ovations Sets New Season at Press Hotel

With their 2015-16 season brochure hot of the presses, Portland Ovations unveiled an exclusive look at its upcoming 2015-16 season at The Press Hotel on Wednesday night to a capacity crowd of 150 Members at its Annual Members-Only Preview party.

Juilliard Open Studios App Now Available

The Juilliard School announces the release of Juilliard Open Studios, a subscription-based app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch that provides behind-the-scenes looks at Juilliard's educational process. The app offers an insider's view of classes, rehearsals, coachings, and productions in development. The app uses innovative technology to connect users, whether novices or connoisseurs, to an entertaining collection of dance, drama, and music episodes. As of May 28, Juilliard Open Studios is available in the App Store worldwide in English and Chinese (traditional and simplified). 

Suzanne Farrell, Nicholas Hytner, Murray Perahia, Dianne Reeves and Peter Sellars Receive Honorary Doctorates from Juilliard Today

The Juilliard School will confer honorary doctorates on five remarkable artists during its 110th Commencement Ceremony today, May 22, 2015 at 11 a.m. in Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center (Broadway at 65th Street, New York City). Suzanne Farrell, Nicholas Hytner (pictured, left), Murray Perahia, Dianne Reeves, and Peter Sellars will be honored at Juilliard's May 2015 Commencement Ceremony.

Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts to Welcome Slew of Grammy Winners During 2015-16 Season

Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College is pleased to announce its 2015-16 music series. This year's lineup includes 61st Season opener Michael Feinstein, a children's favorite Black Violin, a reimagining of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by Art of Time Ensemble, a holiday concert by Vienna Boys Choir, Robert Glasper Trio, a jazz violin virtuoso Regina Carter, and a tribute to Nat King Cole featuring Ramsey Lewis and John Pizzarelli. These musical events reflect the artistic excellence and cultural diversity to which Brooklyn Center is dedicated.

Blue Note Records Exec Bruce Lundvall Dies at 79

Bruce Lundvall, former CEO of Blue Note Records who signed artists such as Herbie Hancock, Wynton Marsalis, Natalie Cole and Norah Jones, passed away today, May 19, 2015, due to complications from a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was 79.
