Bethel Woods Center for the Arts continues to grow and diversify programming held in its most intimate venue - the indoor Event Gallery. This summer, the beloved Bradstan Cabaret Series returns with three unique performances featuring Ann Hampton Callaway on July 8, Mark Nadler on August 20, and Scott Samuelson and Jeanne MacDonald on September 16. Then this fall, PLAY: The Classics returns with the Manhattan Chamber Players on September 14, Borislav Strulev and Friends on September 28, and ZOFO on October 19. The Juilliard School announced today that it has selected Damian Woetzel, director of the Aspen Institute Arts Program, artistic director of Vail Dance Festival, and former principal dancer at New York City Ballet, to serve as its seventh president beginning July 2018.
On Friday, May 12th, more than 300 high school jazz musicians, band directors and parents will be joined by world-renowned musician and Jazz at Lincoln Center's Managing and Artistic Director Wynton Marsalis, as well as musicians and community members, for #UnitedWeSwing, a “Second Line” Parade from Columbus Circle Park to Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Jazz musicians, students and enthusiasts are invited to hang out at The Nash this summer, jam with other students, learn new techniques, or try out different styles of jazz. From bop to brass, guitar to vocals, the popular jazz club will be buzzing as musicians work with instructors in a wide range of classes and workshops. The first session begins May 22, with a variety of workshops held throughout the summer.
The New York Philharmonic travels to Shanghai for its third annual performance residency as part of the Shanghai Orchestra Academy and Residency Partnership, July 2–8, 2017. The residency will feature four performances at Shanghai Symphony Hall, including a Young People's Concert in which select students from the Shanghai Orchestra Academy (SOA) will perform Dvo?ák's Symphony No. 9, From the New World, alongside the Orchestra; master classes, lessons, coachings, and a side-by-side Philharmonic rehearsal with SOA students of Dvo?ák's New World Symphony and Brahms's Symphony No. 3; and a Very Young Composers workshop and performance. The performances are presented as part of Shanghai's Music in the Summer Air (MISA) festival. The Philharmonic's Shanghai partnership is a cornerstone and founding component of the New York Philharmonic Global Academy. He was mentored by the iconic Wynton Marsalis, arranged the horn section for Tedeschi Trucks Bands' 2011 Grammy award-winning album Revelator and has played alongside incredible stars such as Santigold, Wyclef Jean, Santana, Diddy, John Legend, and more. They call him “Mobetta” for a reason; from a musical standpoint, it doesn't get much better than Mo Brown.

The nationally acclaimed CSUF dance program features its annual Spring Dance Theatre, coordinated by Gladys Kares, on May 4 through May 14, 2017 in the Little Theatre on Cal State Fullerton's campus. Spring Dance Theatre includes original choreography by students, faculty and guest artists. CSUF dancers were recently featured at Washington DC's Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
